Don't Relax When You See The Barn Door
One summer I spent a month at sea in Outward Bound based at Hurricane Island, Maine. We were taught valuable lessons that I've carried with me my entire adult life. One of them was to stay vigilant until the end. Don't stop when you see your finish line to just coast the rest of the way. That's when real accidents happen. Accidents occur only through lack of attention.
This article in the Harvard Business review was a wake up call for me to remember again what I learned a long time ago.
